Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has warned against politicising the welfare of the people as the state marked its 34th anniversary of creation.
Speaking at the 2025 Osun State Creation Colloquium in Osogbo, Governor Adeleke emphasised that good governance is about the well-being of citizens, warning that using state power to harm the public is against God’s will.
The Governor, who reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to prioritising people’s welfare, said his government would never compromise on citizens’ interest, as his government enjoys the backing of both God and the people.
Reviewing his administration’s performance since 2022, Governor Adeleke said his government had stabilized the public service by addressing the entitlements of civil servants and pensioners, invested in infrastructure renewal, and re positioned the state for economic growth.
He noted that the administration had addressed an 80 per cent infrastructure deficit, launched major road and bridge projects across the state, harmonised the tax system, digitised business processes, and improved the state’s investment climate.
The Chairman of the occasion, former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola who commended Governor Adeleke for transforming Osun State from a civil service state into an emerging industrial hub, called on President Bola Tinubu to release Osun’s withheld federal allocations.
Prince Oyinlola, represented by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Prince Adewale Egbedun urged all stakeholders to work together in advancing the state’s growth and development agenda.

They highlighted agriculture, technology, human capital, education, health, and tourism as key sectors to drive growth, urging the state to leverage its human and natural resources for self-sufficiency.
