Members of staff of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, Ibadan Zonal Station, have kicked off a two-day special event tagged “Radio Nigeria Regional Impact and Expansion Assembly” with a walk from the Broadcasting House, Dugbe, to the Ibadan Recreation Club, Sabo.

In a remark, the Zonal Director of the corporation, Mr Dominic Mokikan, who led the walk with dancing and music, from the Broadcasting House, Dugbe, expressed delight at the turnout of staff for the walk, adding that, the walkathon may soon become a routine event, given its numerous health benefits to the staff’s physical and mental well-being.

After a stopover at the Ibadan Recreation Club Indoor Games Section, the staff engaged in popular board games such as Ludo, Scrabble, Chess, Whot, and Monopoly.

Some members of the Committee of Management, FRCN, Ibadan, who took part in the walk, commended the organizers for putting up a health-refreshing programme.
Speaking on the importance of the walk, the chairperson of the organising committee of the two-day event, Mrs Stella Oyebanji noted that, the walk was part of the activities to ease off the stress of the journalists and other members of staff.
Some of the staff members, who described the exercise, tagged “Walkathon” as a means to bond and have fun, maintained that the walk should be made a periodic exercise.
