The Western Nigeria Security Network, also known as the Amotekun Corps, Osun State Command, has confirmed an ambush on its operatives while responding to a distress call from residents of Akinlalu, a community in the Ile-Ife axis of the state.
According to official reports, the Amotekun Corps operatives had been dispatched from the Ile-Ife Command, following an emergency alert from residents, who reported that suspected bandits were invading farmlands in the area.

Commander of the Osun Amotekun Corps, Dr. Adekunle Omoyele who confirmed the incident, condemned the ambush.
“Following the ambush, a reinforcement team was immediately deployed, with the intention of approaching the situation peacefully and meeting with the traditional ruler of Akinlalu.
However, upon reaching the T-junction leading into the town, the road was barricaded, while the assailants opened fire on the operatives, triggering a fierce gun battle that lasted for over an hour.”
Dr Omoyele reaffirmed that the corps’ commitment to protecting lives and property across Osun communities.
