Nollywood actress Rita Daniels, the mother of popular actress Regina Daniels, has opened up about her daughter’s controversial marriage to billionaire politician Senator Ned Nwoko, revealing that she never supported it from the beginning.
In a resurfaced interview with BBC Igbo conducted on October 7, 2025, Rita Daniels explained that, contrary to public belief, she was not the one who encouraged or arranged the union between her daughter and the much older businessman.
According to her, Regina decided to marry Nwoko on her own terms.
“I never wanted my daughter to marry Ned Nwoko, but she insisted. I didn’t even know when they started their relationship,” Rita Daniels said.
“People often heap the blame on me for being the one who facilitated their marriage, but that’s untrue. But I’d rather take the blame than let them blame her for any bad decisions,” she concluded.
