The Management of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, has condemned a recent armed robbery attack on students at an off-campus hostel on Monday night.

In a statement, the University’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Abiodun Olanrewaju, said the management described the incident as distressing and unacceptable.

On behalf of the management, Professor Bamire urged security agencies, including the Department of State Services (DSS), to intensify surveillance and routine patrols around student-populated areas.

The robbery occurred at the Oreoluwa Hostel in the Moremi Estate area of Ile-Ife.
