Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has set up a cabinet-level security committee to develop short- and long-term measures aimed at preventing further security breaches and enhancing public safety under the “Safer Kwara” initiative.
According to a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Rafiu Ajakaye, the committee will engage key stakeholders, including traditional rulers, to design a Kwara-specific security strategy.
It will submit its report to the governor within four weeks for consideration and action.
The statement added that the security committee’s recommendations are expected to strengthen the state’s understanding of nationwide security challenges from a local perspective.
The committee is chaired by the Deputy Governor, Mr Kayode Alabi, with Mrs Olufunke Shittu from the Office of the Head of Service serving as secretary.
