Southern Govs. Converge on Ogun over Security Issues

Ahead of the ongoing Southern Governors Forum meeting holding at Iperu-Remo in Ikenne local government, governors from across the region have started arriving in Ogun State.

Among the governors already in the state for the auspicious occasion, including Abia, Rivers, Anambra, Enugu and Ekiti States 

Also, in attendance are the Deputy Governors of Edo, Oyo and Osun States, who arrived earlier to represent their respective principals.

Ogun State governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun while addressing traditional rulers from the southern parts of the country at a dinner on Tuesday, said the meeting was called at the stance of the southern governors forum to meet with the traditional rulers to brainstorm on the current situation in the country as it affects the region 

The governor noted that the role of traditional rulers in the enthronement of good governance in the country can not be over-emphasised due to their closeness to the grassroots 

Mr. Abiodun, who commended the traditional rulers for their support to the President Tinubu led administration assured that the maiden edition of the southern traditional rulers meeting with the governors from the region would come up with important resolutions to mitigate against various challenges affecting the southern region and the nation at large
