The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, says the allegation of the presence of a terrorist group in the town is false and unfounded.
Oba Akanbi reacted to reports linking the purported invitation and arrest of Sheik Dahood Imran Molaasan by the Department of State Services, DSS, to terrorism allegations.
According to a statement by Oluwo’ Chief Press Secretary, Mr.Alli Ibraheem, the reports were manufactured and coordinated by enemies seeking to discredit the town’s security structure and religious harmony.
Oba Akanbi who noted that Iwo remained one of the most peaceful towns in Nigeria explained that attempts to attack the image and values of Iwo and its people would continue to fail.
The Statement reads “as a deliberate move to weaken the security capacity of Iwo by undermining the Jaysu Security Network, which he said plays a critical role in maintaining law and order.
The Oluwo stressed that individuals spreading non-existent information were social media terrorists and bandits and threatened to take legal action against those involved.
