Security operatives have arrested a staff member of Boluwaduro Local Government Area in Osun State, Mrs. Felicia Olaojo, over an alleged attempt to steal government property from the council secretariat.
In a statement, the Media Assistant to the Chairman of Boluwaduro Local Government, Mr. Saheed Omokanye, revealed that the arrest followed intelligence reports indicating that the staff member allegedly tried to smuggle government-owned items and sensitive official documents out of the council premises.
Mr. Omokanye explained that Mrs. Olaojo was intercepted by security personnel while trying to move the items through the perimeter fence of the local government secretariat, thereby, raising suspicion among officers on duty.
He stressed that, upon prompt response, the security operatives stopped her and recovered several government properties found in her possession.
Mr. Omokanye confirmed that the suspect has been handed over to the police for further interrogation and investigation.
