Relief as Oyo, Osun Experience First Rain

Oyo state has joined its neighbouring states like Ekiti, Osun and Ogun in witnessing the first rain of 2025.

Rain was witnessed in some parts of the State Capital, Ibadan, such as Ring road, Ayegun Oleyo, Odo Ona Elewe, Oluyole, Apata, Idi-Ishin, Jericho, Mokola, Dugbe, Oje, Agodi gate, Iyana church, Olodo, Amuloko, and its environs.

The rain which started around half past seven in the morning was heavy in some areas and light with breeze in other places.

Residents who spoke with Radio Nigeria expressed relief and believed that the rain would reduce the current heat and dust.

Similarly, Osogbo the Osun State Capital witnessed the first rain in the year.

The downpour which lasted for Twenty – five minutes was accompanied by torm.

The downpour occurred in areas including Owode – Ilesa, Oke Aiype, Asubiaro, Ola – iya, Alekuwodo, Ogo – Oluwa,  among others.

A resident of Oke Aiype Community, Mr. Tunde Adebayo noted that the downpour would reduce the extreme heat being experienced recently.

Mr Adebayo expressed the hope that the rainfall commenced early to support farmer’s activities.
