The leadership of the in-house unions, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN Ibadan Zonal Station, has charged the newly appointed Zonal Director, Mr Olufemi Fulani, to hit the ground running and reposition the station for greater heights.
The charge was given during a congratulatory visit to the new Zonal Director by leaders of the in-house unions, led by the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, FRCN Ibadan Chapel, Mr Oluwakayode Banjo, the Chairman of the Radio, Television, Theatre and Arts Workers Union of Nigeria, RATTAWU, FRCN Ibadan Chapel, Mr Tunde Imam, and the Chairman of the Senior Staff Association of Statutory Corporations and Government-Owned Companies, SSASCGOC, Mr Sunday Olowookere.
Speaking on behalf of the union leaders, Mr Banjo urged the Zonal Director to restore the flagship status of FRCN in the zone.
He appealed to Mr Fulani to always regard the in-house unions as partners in progress and to engage them whenever ideas or challenges arise that require collective resolution.
Mr Banjo further assured that the in-house union leadership would give massive support to the innovations and developmental policies of the Zonal Director and his management team, aimed at propelling the station to an enviable position.
In his remarks, the new Zonal Director, Mr Fulani, expressed appreciation to the union leaders for the visit and honour.
Mr Fulani noted that being a unionist, both at the FRCN Headquarters Chapel and the State Council level, emphasised the importance of a cordial relationship between unions and management.
Mr Fulani said he would maintain an open-door policy capable of advancing the growth of FRCN, Ibadan.
The Zonal Director appealed for the cooperation and support of all stakeholders in achieving his vision and mission for the station.
