The Nigeria police force, Oyo Command has recorded multiple breakthroughs in its sustained fight against crime across the state.
A statement signed by the Command Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police Olayinka Ayanlade, said operatives arrested a murder suspect, Yaru Saka, in Tede, Atisbo Local Government Area, over the killing of Amodu Saliu.
The statement indicates that a locally made gun was recovered, and the suspect has confessed to the crime.
Also in Jobele, the command has quelled a cult-related clash, rescuing a 35-year-old man with stab injuries.
The PPRO said two suspects had been arrested, while a blood-stained knife was recovered. The suspects are assisting investigations to arrest other fleeing cult members.
In a related development, a 23-year-old suspect has been arrested at ilora over a violent attack on a night guard whose left hand was reportedly severed with a cutlass.
The suspect was found with a blood-stained cutlass and has confessed to the crime.
In another development, the command has dismantled a three suspected burglary syndicate inside a commercial bus loaded with stolen household and electronic items in Ibadan.
The PPRO has affirmed that previous burglary cases have been traced to them.
The statement says all the suspects will be charged to court .
