The Nigeria Customs Service, Oyo/Osun Area Command, says it has recorded seizures with a cumulative Duty Paid Value (DPV) of about three billion naira within one month.
The Acting Controller of the Command, Mr Wale Adewole made this known in a release made available to newsmen.
Mr Adewole explained that the seizures were made at various flashpoints through credible intelligence, sustained patrols, and strategic enforcement operations.
He added that the figure represents an over fifteen percent increase compared to seizures recorded in the same period of in 2025.
According to him, the items were intercepted from individuals attempting to smuggle prohibited items into Oyo State and were transferred to the appropriate authority in line with established procedures.
According to Mr Adewole, the items included cannabis sativa, cartridges, pharmaceutical products, used clothes, shoes, foreign parboiled rice, spaghetti, used tyres, compressors, and petroleum motor spirit.
