By Abisola Oluremi

The Nigeria Police Force Zone 11 Headquarters in Osogbo has reacted to a statement issued by the Amotekun Corps concerning the arrest of one Amoo Saheed Ajibola.

In a statement signed by the Zonal Public Relations Officer, Mr Adewole Ogunyemi, says the suspect is currently under investigation for alleged involvement in gun running, illegal sales of prohibited arms, forgery, and unlawful possession of firearms.

The command described Ajibola as a principal suspect who had been on the run for a long period.

It states further that preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect allegedly sold prohibited firearms to unauthorized individuals for criminal activities.

He was also accused of forging a fake police license, despite an existing ban on issuing licenses for prohibited arms to individuals since 2018.

The police further disclosed that three additional suspects have been arrested in connection with the case, while a barrel gun has been recovered as part of the ongoing investigation.

The statement also indicates that prior efforts to invite the suspect were unsuccessful before his eventual arrest through credible intelligence.
