The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ FRCN Ibadan Chapel has congratulated one of its members, Comrade Babatunde Salaudeen on his appointment as the General Manager, Ogo Ilu 89.3FM, Oko, Surulere Local Government Area of Oyo State.
Ogo Ilu 89.3FM is one of the FM Stations under Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, Ibadan Zonal Station.
The congratulatory message is contained in a release signed by the chairman of the chapel, Comrade Oluwakayode Banjo and the Secretary, Comrade Olawale Asake.
The chapel described the appointment of Comrade Salaudeen as due reward for professionalism and unwavering commitment to journalism.
NUJ FRCN Ibadan Chapel maintained that the newly appointed GM is a respected gentleman of the press with exemplary leadership, describing Comrade Salaudeen as a round peg in a round hole.
“On behalf of the entire members of our great chapel, we are optimistic that you as the General Manager, Ogo Ilu FM, Oko, you will deploy your expertise to improve the performance of the Station. We have no doubt in your ability, hence, we rejoice with you” the statement read.
Comrade Banjo and Comrade Asake urged the new General Manager to work closely with the Zonal Director of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Ibadan Zonal Station, Mr Olufemi Fulani, as well as the Committee of Management and staff, to further strengthen the corporation’s broadcasting services, particularly for the station’s Yoruba-speaking audience.
The chapel also extended their gratitude to the Director-General, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, Dr Mohammed Bulama for the appointment and hoped that the new general manager would be given all necessary support to excel in the new assignment.
