President Bola Tinubu has inaugurated the Gateway International Agro-Cargo Airport and other landmark projects in Ogun State, describing the facilities as strategic economic interventions that will stimulate trade, investment, and job creation.

Addressing a large gathering at the Gateway International Airport, Iperu-Ilishan Road, Ikenne Local Government Area, President Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to economic growth and national development.

He expressed confidence that Nigeria would soon overcome terrorism and banditry, noting that sustained investment in infrastructure reflects growing confidence in the country’s future.

President Tinubu acknowledged Governor Dapo Abiodun’s efforts in ensuring judicious use of federal allocations for the benefit of the people, particularly praising the administration’s focus on mobility, security, and agriculture.

In their goodwill messages, former President Olusegun Obasanjo and former Ogun State Governor Olusegun Osoba described the airport as a landmark achievement that would enhance connectivity and boost economic activities within and beyond the state.

Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio promised that the National Assembly would continue to support policies aimed at strengthening economic growth, good governance, and national development.

In a remark, Governor Dapo Abiodun emphasised that Ogun State is committed to the Renewed Hope Agenda of the present administration, adding that ongoing reforms aim to boost investor confidence and strengthen the state’s economic outlook.

Earlier in the welcome address, Ogun State Deputy Governor Mrs Noimot Salako-Oyedele described the president’s visit as historic and a symbol of the importance of synergy between federal and subnational governments in driving sustainable development.

The event attracted key players in the economic and political sectors of the nation, including Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Chief Femi Otedola, state governors from Lagos, Borno, Niger, Ondo, and Bayelsa States, as well as the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr Yemi Cardoso, and the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, among other royal fathers.
