The Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Muhammad Usman Zuru, has died in an Egyptian hospital where he was undergoing medical treatment.
The Special Adviser to Governor on Media and Publicity, Mallam Yahaya Sarki, who confirmed this to Radio Nigeria in Birnin Kebbi, said that he died on Monday night.
The late speaker, who represented Zuru constituency, had been managing his health for some time and was a prominent figure in Kebbi State politics, serving as the Speaker of the State Assembly.
Prior to his death, he was in Egypt seeking medical attention for an undisclosed illness.
