Members of the Oyo State House of Assembly have unanimously passed a vote of confidence in Governor Seyi Makinde and the Speaker, Mr Adebo Ogundoyin, describing as unfounded an impeachment plot being circulated in the state.
The resolution followed a plenary session where lawmakers reiterated their support for both the executive arm under Governor Makinde and the legislative leadership led by Mr Ogundoyin.
The Majority Leader, Mr Sanjo Adedoyin, representing Ogbomoso South State Constituency, who moved the motion during the sitting, described the allegations as baseless, distracting, and politically motivated.
Also speaking, the Deputy Speaker, Mr Mohammed Fadeyi, who seconded the motion, described the legislature as a unified House.
He also commended Governor Makinde’s leadership, particularly highlighting achievements in infrastructure, education, and healthcare sectors.
Other lawmakers noted that the strong collaboration between the executive and legislative arms has significantly enhanced stability and development across the state.
