Immediate Past Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, has officially declared his ambition to contest the Oyo State 2027 Governorship seat under the All Progressives Congress, APC, with a promise of a Rebirth Agenda if elected in the general election.
Chief Adelabu made the declaration at the Main Bowl of the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Liberty, Ibadan, Oyo State.
He said, his declaration marked the beginning of a movement to restore, rebuild, reposition, and reclaim Oyo State for genuine progress, prosperity, and people-centred governance, if given opportunity to serve.
The Former Minister of Power maintained that, if elected, he would build an economically vibrant, educationally advanced, agriculturally productive and socially secured state for all citizens and residents.
The APC Governorship Aspirant added that, he was contesting because he had the experience, exposure, competence, capacity and leadership skills to move Oyo State from poverty to prosperity.
Chief Adelabu who appreciated all the Stakeholders, Party Faithful and all members of the APC in Oyo State for standing by him, called for unity among the members for better results in the 2027 General elections.
Chief Adebayo Adelabu had last month resigned his appointment as the Minister of Power to pursue his governorship ambition.
It would be recalled that Chief Adelabu, a chartered accountant and former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN had first in 2018 voluntarily resigned from the apex bank also due to his governorship ambition.
