NLC Demands Justice for Oriire School Kidnap Victims

By Olubunmi Agboola

The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Oyo State Council, wants security agencies to ensure that master minds of the attack on Ahoro-Esinele community in Oriire Local Government Area are arrested,  investigated, and prosecuted in line with the law to deter further attacks.

In a statement by the state chairman, Mr Kayode Martins, the council strongly condemned the bandit attack and abduction, describing it as an assault on the state’s peace and educational stability. “It’s an incident that has inflicted trauma, fear, and hardship on affected families, schools, and communities”.

The Union expressed support for the state government and security agencies working to rescue the abducted victims and restore peace.

It called for intensified intelligence gathering and coordinated operations to secure the immediate and safe release of all victims.

“The safety and security of workers, teachers, students, and all residents of Oyo State remain a top priority,” the council said.

The NLC extended heartfelt sympathy to the people of Ogbomoso, Oyo State Government, and the Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT.

“We stand in full solidarity with the leadership and members of the NUT during this difficult time and pray for strength, comfort, and healing for all affected families,” the statement read.

The congress concluded by praying for the safe return of all abducted victims and for lasting peace and stability in Oyo State and Nigeria.
