A 43 year old housewife, Bisola Awodele has been arrested by men of Nigeria Police, Ogun State Command for allegedly pouring hot water on her husband over drunkenness.
The suspect was apprehended after the husband, Peter Phillips had reported the incident at Sango Ota Area Command, that his wife who accused him of being drunk, poured hot water on his body.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Abimbola Oyeyemi who confirmed the incident in a statement in Abeokuta said the suspect, a mother of five was arrested.
Mr Oyeyemi said the suspect accused her husband of failing to contribute to her welfare and that of the children.
The command’s spokesman said the suspect had out of frustration allegedly killed and buried the baby she had about eight months ago.
He noted that suspect led the policemen to where the baby was buried and the carcass was exhumed while the husband was taken to General Hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Mr Edward Ajogun has ordered the immediate transfer of the case to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and prosecution.
