The Action Democratic Party, ADP, in Oyo State says it has not collapsed its structure for any candidate or political party.

In a statement by the Oyo State Governorship Candidate, of the Party, Mr Akim Yusuf, the party stated that its candidates are contesting fully in the presidential/National Assembly elections, as well as, the governorship and House Assembly elections across the country.

“I write to categorically deny reports making the rounds that the ADP Southwest, including Oyo State, has collapsed it’s structures for the Presidential candidate of the APC or any other political party.”

“The reports and any actions leading thereto do not carry the authority of the members of ADP, Oyo State and we remain solidly behind and committed to our Party’s Presidential candidate, Engineer Yusuf Sani Yabagi.”

The ADP, however, urged all party members and the general public not to be misinformed by the actions of self-serving individuals making purchased endorsements.

The governorship candidate of the Action Democratic Party, ADP, for the 2023 general election in Oyo State, Mr Akim Yusuf has flagged off his campaign in Ibadan.

Unveiling his manifesto before the crowd of guests, traditional chiefs, political associates and party supporters from all the thirty-three local government areas of Oyo State, Mr. Akim Yusuf explained that his people-oriented programmes would return the state to its pacesetter status.

Mr. Yusuf, who spoke in Yoruba noted that his administration if elected, would revamp the agricultural potentiality of the state through massive investment in mechanised farming and the establishment of agro-allied and food processing industries in the Oke Ogun axis to feed residents and the entire country.

He affirmed that the unemployed youths would be gainfully engaged while the education and health sectors would be upgraded and modernised.

His deputy governorship candidate, Mrs Modupe Daniels who hailed from Ogbomoso, promised the people that their administration would govern the state with probity, fairness and fear of God if given the mandate in the March 11 governorship poll.

Speakers at the event including Southwest Chairman of ADP, Elder Niyi Olatunji said the Ibadan-born party flag-bearer had managed financial institutions in Nigeria, Gambia and Sierra Leone as well as at different times, served as Special Advisers to former Governor Chief Rasheed Ladoja and the immediate past Minister of Communications, Barrister Adebayo Shittu without any dent on his image and personality.

The Action Democratic Party, ADP, in Oyo State has been repositioned with a strong party structure, increased membership and an all-inclusive state working committee ahead of the 2023 General Elections.

Oyo State ADP Chairman, Apostle Dare Ojo made this known during a news conference at the state party secretariat, Olororo Bus stop, Ojoo, Ibadan.

Apostle Ojo affirmed that the state working committee under him is the only recognized party executive by the party’s national headquarters in Abuja, calling on people willing to join the party to do so through the authentic party structure.

The ADP chairman urged Nigerians to beware of impostors who have defected to the ruling party in the state due to political appointments but claiming to be in ADP.

Apostle Ojo restated that the party is open to dialogue and called on those parading themselves as ADP members outside the party fold to rejoin for proper integration.

He pointed out that, the presence of state and local government as well as ward executives of the party at the conference was a clear indication of unity in the party.

The race for the governorship seat of Ondo state is being intensified as political parties jostle to outwit themselves.

The latest in the series was the agreement of thirteen interest groups from political parties in Ondo state to align and form a third force ahead of the October 10, 2020 governorship election.

In a statement made available to newsmen in Akure, the state chairman of Mega Party of Nigeria, MPN, Prince Biyi Poroye admitted that the group had agreed to use the Action Democratic Party, ADP as their adopted party.

Prince Poroye noted that modalities are being worked out to accommodate other interest groups at achieving their purpose of grabbing power ahead of the 2020 election and subsequent ones.

The statement indicated that the ADP had collapsed their structures from state to units’ level to accommodate all parties and interest group in the merger.
