Nigerian youths need to go out and get involved in politics so as to be able to influence governance in the country positively.

The All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate for the Ibadan Southwest Constituency II seat in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Alhaji Idris Abolaji Abiola-Ajimobi stated this while speaking in an interview with Radio Nigeria.

Alhaji Abiola-Ajimobi said the time of waiting for handouts in politics has passed and urged youths to use all their skills to positively engage the political system of the country.

He added that although a lot has been done in the past to make the political terrain easy for the youths, especially with the Not-Too-Young-To-Run act, there is still a long way to go for Nigerian youths in actualizing their ambitions.

Alhaji Idris Abiola-Ajimobi, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Assembly candidate for Ibadan South-West Constituency II has commended his co-contestants for withdrawing suit against his candidature.

He made the disclosure in a statement signed by his Media Aide, Lateef Alade and made available to newsmen on Friday in Ibadan.

Abiola-Ajimobi, the son of the late former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, said that the plaintiffs had demonstrated high-level maturity and loyalty to the party by withdrawing the suit they instituted against his candidature.

The candidate appreciated his co-contestants and party leaders for their intervention which led to the amicable resolution of the issue.

He assured all members of the party including his co-contestants of quality representation, promising to justify the confidence reposed in him.

“I assure our leaders, co-contestants, constituents and other members of the party that I will justify the confidence reposed in me through quality representation.

It would be recalled that  Abiola-Ajimobi had won the party’s primaries on May 26 to contest the Ibadan South-West II State Constituency seat in the 2023 general elections.

The duo of Michael Famurewa and Olawale Ayilara, who contested the Assembly primaries against Abiola-Ajimobi had approached the court over the outcome of the primaries.

The court had struck out the case challenging Abiola- Ajimobi’s candidature after the duo of Famurewa and Ayilara withdrew the suit in his honour.
