The police public relations officer in Ogun state, Omolola Odutola says the command has placed different measures at Lagos-Ibadan Expressway over an alleged kidnap.

Mrs Odutola, said the divisional police officer, DPOs in the area have been ordered to intensify patrol along the area.

She said The DPOs comprising Mowe, Ibafo, Redeem and Sagamu patrol the axis to secure that territory against ‘one chance.’”

PPRO also reassured the public that any complaint related to the menace would be promptly investigated and the culprits prosecuted.

It would be recalled that motorists and passengers plying the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway had lamented the increase in the operations of one-chance robbers in the Mowe/Ibafo-Berger area of the road.

Some passengers who spoke with newsmen said the road was no longer safe for them to use due to the activities of one-chance’ criminals.

Crime

A middle-aged man Kabiru Olalekan Adeoye has been apprehended at Lagos State University teaching hospital Ayinke house while allegedly trying to kidnap a baby.

Kabiru was said to have dressed like a member of staff of the hospital so as not to raise any suspicion.

He was however apprehended by some workers on duty and was handed over to the security unit of the hospital .

Reacting to the incident ,the Lagos State police public relations officer, Adekunle Ajisebutu explained that the the suspect was mentally unstable.

He said further that, he had been receiving treatment as an outpatient of the federal Neuro-psychiatric hospital, Yaba.

The PPRO added that, further investigations would be carried out on the incident.
