Ogun State Police Command has arrested a suspected cultist, Ojo Akinola Iyanu while trying to disrupt the school examination at Ogun state Institute of Technology, Igbesa in Ado Odo Ota local government area of the state. 

A statement by the command spokesman, Mr Oyeyemi Abimbola explained that the suspect was arrested following an intelligence report revealing that members of a cult group have planned to disrupt the school examination rescheduled after the settlement of crisis between the school management and the students. 

The spokesman noted that the action of the student cultists was due to their non-preparedness for the examination.

Mr Abimbola hinted that the screening of students from the entrance to the institution led to the arrest of the suspect with a black bag with one locally-made pistol loaded with one live cartridge. 

The spokesman said the suspect had confessed to being a member of the “AYE” confraternity.

The state commissioner of police Mr Lanre Bankole has ordered the transfer of the suspect to the state criminal investigation department for further investigation.

Ogun state Police command has arrested three men while exhuming the corpse of one Segun Taiwo who died and was buried about six months ago at Abule Sikiru area of Sabo Abeokuta. 

According to a statement by the Ogun Police command spokesman, Mr Oyeyemi Abimbola the suspects were arrested at about 11:30 p.m. following a distress call from a good Samaritan that he sighted some men digging the grave where a 28 years old man was buried.

He explained that the suspects were arrested at the scene of the crime with the help of members of the community. 

He hinted that investigation has revealed that, the suspects exhumed the corpse use for money-making ritual purposes.

The commissioner of police Mr Lanre Bankole has ordered the transfer of the suspects to state criminal investigation for investigation and prosecution.

The Osun Police have again arrested another ritualist and recovered in his possession.
Parading the suspect, before newsmen at the Command Headquarters in Osogbo, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Olawale Olokode said the arrest was consequent upon intelligence that a lady was beheaded at Query area of Apomu in Irewole Local Government.
The Commissioner said the police acting with other local operatives swung into action and arrested the accused, one Kabiru Oyedotun, a 40 years old resident of Moninun compound of Ikoyi in the same local government.
Upon his arrest the butchered body of the victim was found with him,while some parts of the body was missing.
Mr Olokode said this led to further search into Kabiru’s apartment where the head, wrist and other parts of the severed body were found inside a box in one of the rooms.
The police said the suspects would soon be arraigned after the conclusion of the investigation.

It would be recalled that the Police in Osun State on Wednesday, 8th of June  arrested and paraded, a Pastor, night guard and two others for killing a young man,severed his body for ritual purposes.

A 47 year old woman, Olanshile Nasirudeen, has been apprehended by men of Ogun state police command, for allegedly stabbing her 51 year old husband to death in Ijebu ode area of the state.


The Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Abimbola Oyeyemi confirmed the arrest of the suspect in Abeokuta.


Mr Oyeyemi explained that the suspect who is a co- butcher with the deceased allegedly stabbed him with a knife after a hot argument on issue relating to pregnancy belonging to the new wife.


The command spokesman said the suspect who is the fourth wife of the deceased claimed that, it was her husband who first slapped her simply because she asked his new wife her mission at her market stand. 


He said The corpse of the deceased had been released to the family for burial in accordance with Islamic rights after the autopsy had been conducted.


Meanwhile, the Commissioner for Police, Mr Edward Awolowo Ajogun, had ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to homicide section of the state criminal investigation and intelligence department, for discreet investigation and prosecution.
