Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has called on all Nigerians to remain committed to the growth and development of the nation

Speaking on the Eid-el-Kabir celebration in Ibadan, Governor Makinde, who was represented by the deputy governor, Bayo Lawal, shortly after the Eid prayer acknowledged the challenges that the nation has faced in recent times, but urged citizens to use the holiday as a reminder of the strength of Nigeria when united.

He  emphasised the importance of cohesion and unity during this period of celebration.

The governor also stressed the need for tolerance and understanding, as he called for peace among different ethnic and religious groups in the state and the country at large.

He equally urged the people in the state to remain committed to the state development project being championed.

Governor Makinde solicited more support from the Muslim community and people of the state, while calling for a re-dedication to the collective aspirations of the pacesetter state.

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state has appointed aides to the Deputy Governor, Chief Bayo Lawal. 

The newly appointed aides as contained in a letter signed by the Chief of Staff, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi, are:

1. Ajagbe Yusuf Olatunji: SA (Political)

2. Sakariyah Kunle Sanni: SA (Administration)

3. Hassan Ajibade: SA (Legal)

4. Omoetan Omolere: SA (Print Media)

5. Badmus Adesola: SA (Domestic)

6. Oyedeji Ahmed: SA (Public Affairs)

7. Alhaji Nasiru Ayinde: SA (Projects)

8. Ajibade Waheed Ademola: SA (Media Online)

9. Mutalib Adewale: Personal Assistant

Governor Seyi Makinde also approved the appointment of Miss Adetola Adedibu as Special Assistant, SA, to the Governor on Liaison Office Abuja.

Governor Makinde therefore congratulated the new appointees and urged them to see their appointment as a call to service.

He implored them to discharge their duties with utmost loyalty and all sense of responsibility.

Oyo state house of assembly has acknowledged the receipt of a letter from the Oyo state Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, notifying the house of a one-month vacation.

At a plenary presided over the Speaker, Mr Adebo Ogundoyin, the house commended the governor for the prompt notification.

Governor, Seyi Makinde forwarded a letter to inform the state House of Assembly of his plans to embark on Leave from work.

This was as the Governor has also officially transmitted his executive power to his deputy, Barrister Bayo Lawal to act in his absence for the period of his Leave.

The Governor had in the letter explained that his Leave will last for a period of 30 days.

The Leave, according to the letter read on the floor of the house, begins Thursday 11th of August and ends on 3rd of September, 2022.
