As Christians in Nigeria join the rest of the world to celebrate this year’s Christmas, clerics in Ibadan have called on government at all levels to address economic and security crises affecting the development of the country.
They made the call in their separate sermons during church services to mark the day.
As Nigeria celebrates sixty years of its independence, the Minister-in-charge of Blood of Jesus Apostolic Church, Oke Itunu, Ibadan, Pastor Joseph Adepeko has called on the nation’s leaders to always seek the face of God in the running of affairs of the country.
Pastor Adepeko said this at a special programme tagged “Praise your God, oh ye nations”.

According to the cleric, Nigerian leaders need to be upright and have the fear of God while steering the affairs of the country.
Speaking on the theme of the event “Praise For Fulfillment’”, the convener of the programme, Pastor Felix Matthew stated that giving praises to God during trying periods open doors of breakthroughs faster and stressed the need for Nigerians to praise God at all times.
Some members of the church, Deacon Oyekunle Emmanuel, Mrs Eniola Ayoola and Deaconess Eunice Kolade could not hide their joy on the sixtieth anniversary of the nation’s independence.
The four hours programme featured drama ministration on the nation’s independence anniversary and various songs renditions to commemorate Nigeria at sixty.
