Newly Elected Local government officials have been advised to work with the Community Development Council, CDC, in Ogun State in an effort to respond to the yearnings of the people at the grassroots level.

Former Director, National Broadcasting Commission, NBC, Mr. Eddy Aina gave the advice while speaking with Radio Nigeria in Abeokuta.

Mr. Aina who described local government administration as the closest to the people in the rural areas called on the council chairmen to embark on projects that would have direct impact on the rural dwellers.

He also called on the National Assembly to hasten work on the amendment of the 1999 constitution to guarantee autonomy of local government to enable them to perform optimally.
