Women in Delta State have called for an increase in the number of females in elective and appointive positions, so as encourage the formulation of women-friendly policies.
The women from various professional associations made this known during a rally to the Delta State House of Assembly as part of activities to celebrate 2022 International Women’s Day in the state.

The Delta State Government has announced plans to set up a rehabilitation center in the state as part of measures to address the menace of drug abuse.
The state Commissioner for Health Dr. Mordi Ononye, made this known during the unveiling of a project by Delta State Drug Control Committee, as part of activities to celebrate 2020 International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.
Oghenero Eghweree reports that the Delta State House of Assembly also charged drug law enforcement agencies to step up efforts to reverse the rising cases of drug abuse in the area.
