The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, So-Safe Corps, has urged residents to remain security-conscious during the Yuletide season as they travel, celebrate, and reunite with family and friends.

The So-Safe Corps Commander, Dr Soji Ganzallo, made the appeal in a statement issued through the Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander of Corps, Adegunwa Adegbuyi.

Acknowledging the significance of the Christmas and New Year celebrations, Dr Ganzallo described the season as a period of joy, reflection, and family bonding.

He, however, stressed the need for heightened vigilance, especially on highways, within residential areas, and at public gathering points.

The Commander advised motorists to shun reckless driving and strictly observe traffic regulations.

He also urged residents to stay alert in crowded places, avoid unnecessary late-night movements, and promptly report suspicious activities to security agencies.

Dr Ganzallo called on community leaders, parents, and youths to promote peaceful conduct, tolerance, and respect for the rule of law, noting that collective responsibility remains essential to sustaining security across the state.

While wishing residents a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year, he reaffirmed the readiness of the So-Safe Corps to protect lives and property before, during, and after the festive season.

The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation, and Safety Corps, popularly known as So-Safe Corps, has directed its officers and men to ensure tight security during and after the Easter celebration across the State.

The State Commander of the Corps, Dr Soji Ganzallo in a statement by the Director of Information and Public Relations of the Corps, Mr  Moruf Yusuf, said tactical squads had been ordered to maintain routine patrols of communities and collaborate with the Nigeria Police Force to man worship centres throughout the state, for a peaceful Easter celebration.

Dr Ganzallo advised commuters and travellers to shun night driving and ensure their vehicles were in good condition before embarking on any journey, stating that criminals usually target damaged vehicles and stranded passengers.

The So-Safe-Corps Commander, however, felicitated Christians across the state and beyond, reminding them that Jesus preached the gospel of peace and exemplified it, hence the need for mankind to sustain the virtue.

The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, called So-Safe Corps have arrested Ibrahim Ogunrinde, a 46-year-old resident of Adu Town, Ajebo Road, Mile 6, Abeokuta, for attempted murder.

A statement issued by the Office of the State Commander of the Corps, Dr Soji Ganzallo, through the Office of Director of Information and Public Relations of the Corps, Mr Moruf Yusuf, confirmed that the suspect was arrested at Ijaye Garage on Thursday at about 2.30pm 

The statement revealed that Ibrahim Ogunrinde, a butcher and farmer, had pretended to be a passenger and asked the victim, Kosu Daniel (aka “Jeje”), to take him to Olubo Town on Wednesday, July 5, 2024, at noon where he allegedly stabbed Kosu Daniel in the neck and arm, leaving him in a pool of blood, and escaped with the victim’s motorbike.

The suspect confessed that he was motivated by a desire to eliminate the victim, who he believed had an affair with his wife two months prior and  he believed he had succeeded in killing the victim, not knowing that Kosu Daniel was rushed to the hospital and currently receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta.

Dr.Ganzallo said the suspect and the recovered motorbike have been transferred to the Nigeria Police Force, SWAT, Magbon, Abeokuta for further investigation and  prosecution.

The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps codenamed So-Safe Corps, has arrested one Ayomide Ibrahim for burglary and theft.

In a statement by the State Commander of the Corps, Dr Soji Ganzallo through the Office of the Director of Information and Public Relations of the Corps, Mr Moruf Yusuf.

He noted that on 25th of January, 2024 the officers of the Corps at Baba Ode Division, Iju, in Ado Odo Ota Local Government, while on routine patrol apprehended Ayomide Ibrahim, a 25-year-old man while stealing aluminium fittings. 

Dr Ganzallo maintained that the suspect confessed to have relocated from Abeokuta to join his accomplice at Baba Ode, Iju. 

According to him, he confessed during preliminary interrogation that the exhibits were stolen from an uncompleted building in Atan and that Biola Adebesin, who was previously arrested by the Corps on 18th January is their gang leader and they specialises in burgling and stealing from worship centres. 

Dr Ganzallo also said that the suspect revealed that any church instruments stolen were sold at Arena Shopping Complex in Oshodi, Lagos.

He however, noted that the suspect and the recovered exhibits had been transferred to the Nigeria Police Force, Onipaanu Divisional Police Headquarters for further investigation and prosecution.

Operatives of Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, codenamed So-Safe Corps, have arrested a robbery suspect identified as Biola Adebesin who specializes in burgling places of worship in Baba Ode and Iju Communities in Ado Odo Ota Local Government Area.

The Commander of the Corps, Dr Soji Ganzallo confirmed this in a statement in Abeokuta through the Office of the Director of Information and Public Relations of the Corps, Mr Moruf Yusuf.

Dr Ganzallo explained that the officers of the Corps on routine patrol engaged in a face-to-face battle with the suspect carrying a heavy load on his head in the Baba Ode community. 

The So-Safe commander, who noted that the suspect took to his heels while being questioned by the officers of the Corps, said the suspect was later traced to a hotel he normally lodged and was arrested.

He listed items recovered from the suspect to include two Yamaha keyboards, one mixer engine, decoder, accessories, one  Android and small Bontel phones, adding that the suspect confessed that the items were stolen from one Redeemed Christian Church of God, Onibuku, Cherubim and Seraphim, Baba Ode and Stronghold Ministry. 

Dr Ganzallo said the suspect Biola Adebesin had been transferred to Onipaanu Divisional Police Headquarters for further investigation and likely prosecution.

The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps also known as So-Safe Corps has rescued seven church members kidnapped unhurt.

The Commander of the Corps, Dr Soji Ganzallo confirmed this in a statement in Abeokuta through his Director of Information and Public Relations of the Corps, Mr Moruf Yusuf.

Dr Ganzallo noted that the special operation of the corps had swung into action after receiving a call that members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Desires of Nations Parish, under Ogun Province 22, Abule-Ori in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area had been attacked during a vigil, while seven members of the church were kidnapped and the pastor killed.

He pointed out that the seven victims were rescued unhurt while one of the kidnappers was killed and many of the suspects sustained serious injury during a fire exchange.

The So-Safe Corps Commander said that the joint team of the Nigeria Police and the Corps are strategically after the fleeing suspected kidnappers to capture them alive.

Dr Ganzallo noted that the body of the kidnapper that died during the crossfire had been deposited in the nearby morgue.
