Clerics at various Eid prayer ground in Ibadan have enjoined Muslim faithful to tolerate people of other faith and promote justice as Eid el Fitri is celebrated.

At the Muslim Association of Nigeria, Ibadan Branch ,the Missioner, Alhaji Alarape Hamzat, noted that people should not judge others based on their faith but leave the judgment to God.

Alhaji Hamzat maintained that no religion preaches intolerance, urging faithful to study the Holy Quran for guidance.

The cleric tasked the people to continue to practice the lessons learnt during the holy month of Ramadan while also imbibing the act of giving to the less privileged to move more citizens out of poverty.

At the Ibadan Central Prayer Ground, Yidi Agodi, the Chief Imam of Ibadan, Sheik Abdul-Ganiy Agbotomokekere, tasked faithful on the act of compassion to one another especially the less privileged.

The Chief Imam of Ibadan also offered prayer for the progress of Oyo state and Nigeria as a whole.

Speaking with journalists after the two Rakat prayer, the Deputy governor of Oyo State, Chief Bayo Lawal said the lessons Imbibed during the month of Ramadan, such as patience, compassion, and love for mankind would continue to guide Muslims in the journey of life.

Also ,At the Hausa Community, Sabo, Ibadan, Imam ,Alhaji Sa’ad Muhammad who led the two Rakat prayers at the government house Arcade Agodi, called on leaders in the country to promote justice for progress to be achieved.

Alhaji Muhammad urged Muslims to increase their faith in Allah and shun any act of indiscipline.

Similarly, Muslim faithful at Kole, Aroro and Igbo Oloyin area of Akinyele Local Government converged on the open field of a secondary School at Kole where prayers were offered for members of the communities during the Eid el Fitri celebration.

 In a sermon, the Amiru of Kole, Aroro and Igbo Oloyin Muslim community, Alhaji Olayiwola Idris urged  Muslims  to imbibe and practice the lessons learnt during the Ramadan fast.

Alhaji Idris equally called on government to address the hardship caused by high cost of fuel and inflation to make life easy for the people.

Radio Nigeria observed that there were adequate security presence in all the Eid prayer grounds.

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has called on all Nigerians to remain committed to the growth and development of the nation

Speaking on the Eid-el-Kabir celebration in Ibadan, Governor Makinde, who was represented by the deputy governor, Bayo Lawal, shortly after the Eid prayer acknowledged the challenges that the nation has faced in recent times, but urged citizens to use the holiday as a reminder of the strength of Nigeria when united.

He  emphasised the importance of cohesion and unity during this period of celebration.

The governor also stressed the need for tolerance and understanding, as he called for peace among different ethnic and religious groups in the state and the country at large.

He equally urged the people in the state to remain committed to the state development project being championed.

Governor Makinde solicited more support from the Muslim community and people of the state, while calling for a re-dedication to the collective aspirations of the pacesetter state.
