Oyo State House of Assembly has felicitated all Muslims across the globe on the completion of the year 2025 Holy month of Ramadan.

The Assembly urged Muslim faithful to pray for continuous peaceful coexistence in the state and divine guidance for the three Arms of Government to achieve more developmental projects across all sectors of the state.

In a Statement, the Chairman House Committee on Information, Media and Public Affairs,  Mr. Waheed Akintayo said that the month-long fasting had been completed and the state would forever carry on the blessings of the Holy month.

It states further that the 10th Oyo State House of Assembly will  always ensure love , unity and stability in governance as learnt during the Holy month.

The Statement notes that the House will not relent in her continous efforts of making and amending laws that will be of greater value to every downtrodden and entire masses of the state.

We will continue to ensure unity and progress through mutual cooperation with other Arms of Government.  We have shown examples through effective legislation, promised to do more that will cut across all zones of the State and equally enhance policies that will pave  the way for rapid development”

The House however urged  Muslim faithful to internalise the lessons learnt during the month of Ramadan , especially on  love, kindness,  compassion,  and selflessness for the betterment of the society at large.

Happy celebration to our teeming Muslim brothers and Sisters. May Allah grant us abundant good rewards for fasting and engaging in other righteous deeds in the Holy month of Ramadan.  May every moment of this celebration bring us Joy and Happiness.” The Statement concludes.

The Department of State Services, DSS, has urged Nigerians to report suspicious activities during the Eid-El-Fitr celebration.

The service had urged citizens to be vigilant against public dangers, especially Improvised Explosive Devices, urging Nigerians to stay informed about potential threats and avoid crowded or suspicious areas.

A statement, by the Director of Public Relations and Strategic Communications, DSS, Peter Afunanya, assured Nigerians that the service would collaborate with other security agencies to ensure the security of the citizens during the festive period.

The statement advises people to be security conscious and report suspicious activities to security and law enforcement organisations.

It says the DSS will sustain its collaboration with sister security agencies and other stakeholders to ensure hitch-free celebrations.

Muslim faithful in Ibadan this morning converged on their various prayer ground to offer prayers making the end of the 2021 Ramadan fasting

At the Muslim Association of Nigeria prayer ground, Joyce B Road, the worshipers were clad in different attires looking radiant.

The worshippers who were led in Islamic songs of appreciation also offered Eidul fitri zakat.

In a charge to the congregation, an Islamic cleric, Alhaji Abdulgafar Hamzat urged the worshippers to sustain the habits of prayer and abide by the injunctions of the holy Quran.

 Similarly, the  Chief Missioner, Ansar Un Deen Society,  Oyo State Chapter, Dr. Bashir Olanrewaju Olanrewaju has enjoined Muslims to exhibit the virtues of peace, tolerance, integrity and humility as exemplified by Prophet Mohammed.

He said this during the Eid El Fitri Prayer at Liberty Road, Ibadan.

Dr Olanrewaju said Muslim faithful should be grateful to Allah for the privilege of life and good health to have observed this year Ramadan fasting.

The cleric urged Muslims to continue to shun sins as they did during the fasting period.

He equally called for prayers against kidnapping and banditry that has constituted a major challenge to the nation.

At Liberty Odo Ona Elewe, the Chief Imam of the Muslim community, Sheik Hamilu Arieshingun called on the faithful to intensify prayers against disintegration of Nigeria.

Sheik Arieshingun made the call shortly after the Eid El Fitri prayers at Liberty Academy Secondary School, Odo Ona Elewe, Ibadan. 

According to the cleric, Nigerians should always be law abiding and pray for those in authority.

Also speaking, the Baba Isale Adinni of Liberty Odo Ona Elewe Muslim Community, Alhaji Kola Animashaun stressed the need for the nation’s political office holders to be more alive to the yearnings of the masses.
