Veteran Nollywood actors and filmmakers, Faithia Williams and Saheed  Balogun, stirred reactions online after sharing a warm moment at a recent movie premiere in Lagos, years after their separation.

The former couple reunited again publicly at the April 26 premiere of “Efunroye: The Unicorn”, a historical biopic produced by Faithia, where both actors appeared on stage alongside their son, Khalid in matching outfits.

In a moment that drew applause from guests, Faithia openly acknowledged their bond despite their past while also appreciating her son and management team.

The film, which tells the story of 19th-century businesswoman and power broker Efunroye Tinubu, is scheduled for nationwide cinema release on May 1 and features actors including Odunlade Adekola and Mercy Aigbe.

Their reunion quickly went viral, with many social media users expressing admiration for the maturity displayed by the duo, who were married from 2000 until their separation in 2014.

A user, Man of Letters (#Letter_to_Jack), questioned the “ex” narrative, writing, “With everything you’re seeing in this video, you still believe he is her ‘ex’ husband?”

Another user, #linisexy88, praised their relationship dynamic, stating, “A king supporting a queen. Nollywood legends showing us that ‘Ex’ doesn’t have to mean ‘Enemy.’ Khalid looks so proud to be standing between two greats.”

#AdefolaluSunday also weighed in, urging clarity on their relationship status, “Please be bold to tell us the good news we all have been waiting to hear that you are back with your husband. This hide-seek game no good jàre. You are better with Saheed Balogun.”

Offering a different perspective, #yuquas7 compared their relationship to a fictional partnership, writing, “When ‘marriage’ transforms into a business partnership. Reminds me of Frank and Claire Underwood in House of Cards.”

Others described the moment as nostalgic and symbolic. #arike_20 wrote, “The original power couple of our childhood. Seeing them like this is so healing. It just shows that the settlement is deeper than what we see on camera.”

The reunion comes amid recent sightings of both actors together at public events, further fuelling speculation about their relationship. Saheed Balogun also featured as part of the cast of the film, reinforcing their continued professional collaboration.

Faithia Williams and Saheed Balogun’s marriage, which lasted 14 years, produced two children, including Khalid, who has recently gained attention on social media.

While neither party has indicated any romantic reconciliation, their public display of mutual respect and support continues to resonate with fans, many of whom view the moment as a rare example of amicable co-parenting and enduring friendship in the entertainment industry.
