The Ogun State Police Command has arrested controversial musician Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, again, and ordered an investigation into a viral video showing his alleged assault while in custody.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr Oluseyi Babaseyi who confirmed the arrest, said Portable was currently being detained by the police, but described the actions seen in the circulating video as unacceptable and contrary to police standards.

Mr Babaseyi condemned the alleged beating of the handcuffed suspect and the filming of suspects in custody, stressing that the police do not permit such conduct under any circumstance.

The police spokesperson assured that the Command had ordered a full investigation into the incident captured in the video, adding that appropriate action would be taken against any personnel found culpable.

Although the reason for Portable’s arrest was yet to be disclosed as at the time of filing this report, it would be recalled that he was recently involved in a violent scuffle with one of his wives and other family members.

Fast-rising and street-hop artiste, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable has welcomed his fourth child with third ‘baby mama’.

The 27-year-old Sango Ota-based singer shared a picture of his baby mama’s bump and a video of the newborn on his Instagram page.

The Zazu crooner said the birth of the baby was a double celebration for him as the day marked his first anniversary in the music industry.

Recall that Portable rose to fame and marked his entrance into the spotlight on December 10, 2021, after Poco Lee introduced him to Olamide which brought about the collabo for his hit single, “Zazzu Zeh”.

The leader of the Zeh nation movement revealed the child’s name as Akorede Omolalomi Badmus.

“Thank u lord for the Gift of Life. Akorede Omolalomi Badmus. It’s a new bouncing baby boy. Congrats to myself and the mother @honey_berry25 Iyawo IKA. December 10th de day real fame came & same Dec 10th I welcomed a new baby boi. God no dey disappoint,” Portable wrote.

Reports say that the baby is the second from Portable this year, the singer had one in early June with his wife and also shared another news in November that he’s expecting another baby soon.

The Ogun State Police Command, on Monday, ordered the popular Zazoo crooner, Habeeb Okikiola popularly called ‘Portable’ to report himself to any nearest police station, over an allegation of inhuman treatment as contained in a video said to have gone viral.

The Command, in a release issued by its spokesman, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi disclosed that failure of ‘Portable’ to submit himself to the police, means that his arrest would promptly be ordered.

The hip-hop musician in the viral video was alleged to have organised some youths to beat up a man and inflict great bodily injury on the person.

“The sad incident was alleged to have happened somewhere in Ogun State over the weekend”.

The police disclosed that “such barbaric act is very unbecoming of a decent human being or someone serving as a role model to the youths and that the earlier such sadistic tendencies are dealt with in accordance with the law of the land, the better before the youth begin to emulate such condemnable acts”.

The release read, “the attention of Ogun State Police Command has been drawn to a video clip circulating on social media where a popular hip hop musician, Habeeb Okikiola a.k.a Portable, the Zazu crooner was seen organizing some youths to beat up a young man and inflict bodily injury on him.

“The incident was said to have taken place somewhere within Ogun State about two days ago”.

“Such unruly and violent behavior is not only barbaric, but unbecoming of somebody who supposed to be a role model for the youths and therefore should not be tolerated”.

“In view of this, the Command is using this medium to advise Okikiola Habeeb a.k.a Portable to report himself at the nearest police station in Ogun State, failure of which his arrest will be ordered.

“The flagrant display of impunity by portable in the viral video is condemnable and if not checked, it will send a wrong signal to the youths who are looking up to him as a role model.
