Infrastructure

Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, says he will only engage genuine property owners affected by the Ibadan Circular Road project, insisting that the ongoing protests are politically motivated.

Governor Makinde made the remark during the commissioning of the Ibadan Central Bus Terminal at Iwo Road, describing as unfortunate the attempts by some individuals to politicize a project meant to deliver long-term economic and infrastructural benefits to the state.

He noted that despite the criticism and “unflattering names” directed at him on social media, leadership means taking blame today to secure the future.

The governor reaffirmed that the 113-kilometre Circular Road remains a cornerstone of his administration’s vision to ease traffic, boost investment, and open new economic corridors across Oyo State.

Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, who attended the event, commended Governor Makinde for his developmental efforts, especially in infrastructure, and urged stakeholders to ensure proper maintenance of the new bus terminal.
