An Ibadan Chief Magistrate Court in Iwo road this morning sentenced a twenty-four-year-old boy, Paul Olaitan to four years imprisonment for housebreaking.

The convict, who faced two counts charge was accused of breaking into the house one Gbenga Ajadi Iyana Agbala, Ibadan when they went to church on Sunday.

Police prosecutor, Mr.  Sunday Ogunremi told the court that the boy jumped out of the house fence when he noticed that presence of the owner. 

Some of the items recovered from the convict were eighty five thousand naira, one Plasma television valued at hundred naira, tendered in court as exhibit. 

Delivering the judgment, the Chief Magistrate, Mr Taiwo Oladiran said the prosecutor had proven the case of burglary beyond reasonable doubt, and sentenced him to two years on each of the two courts.

A 41-year man, Effiom Ekhi Eluwa has been remanded in prison by an Ibadan Chief Magistrate Court, lwo Road for defiling his three-year-old daughter at Ojoo area Ibadan.

Arraigning the suspect, the Police Prosecutor, ASP Sunday Ogunremi told the court that the suspect committed the offence  on June 15 this year.

ASP Ogunremi told the court that the suspect was reported by the mother of the girl. 

The plea of the suspect was not taken because of the nature of the offence.

The Chief Magistrate Mr. Taiwo Oladiran therefore ordered that the suspect be kept in the custody of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense  Corps.  

The case has been adjourned till July 16 this year. 

Radio Nigeria reports that Magistrate Court lack jurisdiction to hear case of defilement which is raping a minor, the case can only be heard by High Court.
