The Ogun State House of Assembly Committee on Finance and Appropriations has commenced the first quarter budget performance assessment of Ministries, Departments and Agencies in the state.

The committee charged the Ministry of Information to sustain its revenue generation drive and effective service delivery in support of information dissemination and feedback management aimed at promoting the developmental agenda of the present administration.

Chairman of the Committee, Mr Musefiu Lamidi, gave the charge alongside other lawmakers during an interface with officials of the Ministry of Information and its agencies at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

The officials were led by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Communications, Mr Kayode Akinmade.

The committee commended the Ministry of Information for its impressive revenue performance between January and March this year.

Presenting the budget performance report of the Ogun State Broadcasting Television, the Deputy General Manager, Marketing and Sales, Mr Gbenga Sebiomo, said the station had adopted administrative measures to ensure uninterrupted transmissions on sattelite dishes, and social media including streaming platforms despite challenges arising from irregular gas supply and high electricity tariffs.

Also appearing before the committee were officials of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism led by the Permanent Secretary, Dr Qudus Adegboyega, as well as officials of the Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation led by the Deputy General Manager, Programme Services, Mr Gbenga Omotunde.

The committee also assessed the budget performance of the Ministry of Health, Hospital Management Board, State Alternative Medicine Board and the Ogun State Agency for the Control of AIDS, OGSACA.

Others were Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, the State Primary Health Care Development Board, the State Health Insurance Agency, and State Hospitals in Ijaye, Ilaro, Ijebu-Ode and Ota.

Crime

Three people have been presumed dead in a fatal crash that occurred along Abiola way, Olorunsogo, Abeokuta.

The accident which occurred on Friday night involved a motorcycle and unidentified vehicle.

The Spokesman of Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, TRACE, Mr Babatunde Akinbiyi confirmed the incident in a statement in Abeokuta.

Mr Akinbiyi who noted that the hit and run driver fled the scene of the incident, said the victims were taken to the Mortuary of Ogun State Hospital, Ijaye, Abeokuta.
