A 35-year-old human trafficking kingpin, Comfort Innocent has been apprehended by operatives of Ogun State Police Command over the abduction and trafficking of two under-aged girls.

The suspect was arrested after two residents of Siun Town in Obafemi Local Government Area of the state, Oluwaseun Aduratola and Sakirat Fasasi reported at Owode Egba Police Station that the suspect abducted their daughters, Blessing Aduratola, 15 and Hasisat Fasasi, 16.

The residents alleged that the suspect was about to take the two girls to Libya where they would be forced into prostitution.

The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, in Ogun State, Mr Abimbola Oyeyemi who confirmed the arrest of the suspect in a statement in Abeokuta said she had confessed committing the crime.

Mr Oyeyemi said confessed that she used to send the girls to her Italy-based husband through Libya where they would be used for prostitution.

He pointed out that the victims had been rescued from Kaduna by the police.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Mr Edward Ajogun has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation.

He also appealed to parents to always be mindful of their children’s well-being especially the females in order to keep them safe from wolves in human skin.

Ogun State Police command has arrested two suspects for allegedly raping a fourteen year old girl in Owode Egba in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of the state. 

The two suspects who are in their twenties, Michael Hammed Azeez and Adeola Ogunseye were arrested after the mother of the victim had reported at Owode Egba Divisional Headquarters that her daughter was abducted by the suspects.

The mother of the victim told the Division Police Officer, DPO in Owode Egba, Mr Matthew Ediae that suspects took her daughter to an unknown place where the duo took turns to forcefully have carnal knowledge of her. 

The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, in Ogun State, Mr Abimbola Oyeyemi who confirmed the arrest of the suspects in a statement in Abeokuta said the victim had been taken to Owode-Egba General Hospital for medical treatment.
