A researcher and agro allied expert, Dr Anthony Atanlogun  has advised stakeholders in the agricultural sector to harness numerous potentials in Jatropha fertilizers and seeds.

Dr Atanlogun gave the advice while speaking at the beginning of a two day workshop on the application of bio-fuel and organic fertilizer in solving food security holding at studio One, broadcasting house, Radio Nigeria, Dugbe Ibadan.

Highlighting the importance of the fertilizer to nutritional value of crops and Agricultural produce, the expert hinted that seeds planted with Jatropha fertilizer would enjoy all the food benefits in Jatropha leafs.

He explained that there are alot to learn from Jatropha fertilizer and oil which he said was capable of replacing the use of fuel, if properly harnessed.

Reacting, Zonal Director, FRCN Ibadan Zonal Station, Mr Dominic Mokikan represented by the Deputy Director Engineering Services, Engineer Gabriel Ajayi described the workshop as timely considering the ongoing Federal government’s initiative to diversify from petroleum.

Earlier in a welcome address, General Manager, Premier FM Ibadan, Mr Adedamola Tinubu who said the Jatropha bio fuel innovation would no doubt reduce the cost of purchase on diesel, pledged Premier FM’s partnership with its clients.

The workshop which featured drama as well as question and answer session, organized in partnership with Premier FM, Ibadan continues today (Wednesday).
