Funsho Adeoti, the former wife of Kazim Adeoti, a Nollywood film producer, has spoken amidst the backlash that followed her previous post.
On Instagram, Funsho Adeoti wrote about the importance of thanksgiving. Quoting from the scriptures, the mother of four urged everyone to be thankful.
She noted that she is thankful in all circumstances, even when difficult.
“1 Thessalonians 5:18 says, In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning us. Thankful in all circumstances, even when those circumstances are difficult.”
This post follows the backlash she received from netizens for thanking God hours after her husband’s second wife, Mercy Aigbe, listed her property in Nigeria.
The US-based Funsho Adeoti created a buzz online when she shared a Thanksgiving message hours after the fire incident.
Although there is a time difference in their location, many claimed Funsho’s Thanksgiving was insensitive amidst Mercy Aigbe’s loss. In contrast, others vouched for her, stating she always thanks God on her Instagram page.
Recall that Mercy Aigbe has expressed heartfelt gratitude to her well-wishers hours after she lost property worth millions of naira.
News had emerged that Mercy Aigbe and her husband, Kazim Adeoti, lost their home to fire. Details of the events were not shared. However, their timeline buzzed with heartwarming and consoling words.
The mother of two generally took time to respond to everyone who reached out to her during this period.

Nollywood actress, Mercy Aigbe is no doubt a lover girl as the movie star has poured out her heart to her husband, Kazim Adeoti as he celebrates his birthday on Wednesday.
Taking to her Instagram page to dedicate two posts to him, she described him as the love of her life, her forever best friend, her favourite human, her soulmate, and her partner in everything.
She stated that he makes life so special for her and her companionship means the world to him because he is her strength, her anchor and she loves him with all her heart.
Mercy expressed how blessed she is to be doing life with him as she cheered on too many years for him.

In another post, she praised him for being the most supportive, loving, kind, and genuine person on the planet.

The celebrant on his part, expressed how blessed he is to be alive to see his birth anniversary.
He stated that the past year came with huge blessings for him at all levels.
“It is a blessed day of my birth anniversary. I feel great and super excited. The past year came with huge blessings for me at all levels of human endeavours. Alhamdulilah Robili Al-amin for His infinite love and guidance. I pray for a greater 2024″.
Recall that Mercy Aigbe made headlines in 2022 when she finally came clean about her relationship with married Marketer, Kazim Adeoti, who shares four kids with his first wife. Despite the heavy criticisms and backlash the couple received, their love seems to wax stronger daily.
The movie star had surprised many this year when she converted to Islam following her marriage and had given herself a Muslim name, Hajia Minnah.
To solidify her conversion to Islam, Mercy went to Hajj with her husband, Kazim Adeoti in June, alongside Kemi Afolabi. Following her trip to the Holy Land, Mercy Aigbe officially became a Hajia.
Opening up on the lessons she has learned from her husband, she revealed she had learned how to pray and give, and she is still in the learning process of her new religion.
In a recent interview, Mercy Aigbe had opened up on her marriage to Marketer, Kazim Adeoti which she gushed over.
She revealed that her love for her husband made her change her decision to become a Muslim, stating that love came calling for her and she loved what they shared as friends.
Mercy revealed that she could feel it in her guts that Kazim was the right person to be with and pointed out how no woman would have gone through what she went through.
Nollywood actress, Mercy Aigbe, has revealed the reason behind her public altercation with Omolara Olukotun, a Lagos Businesswoman popularly known as Larrit.
Aigbe took to her Instagram stories on Monday, where she narrated what transpired at the event.
According to the actress, Lara was an acquaintance who suddenly became an enemy.
Aigbe claimed that the businesswoman had severally insulted her on social media despite the fact that in the past, she had patronised Larrit’s business and vice versa.
I was at a friend’s store opening to celebrate with her. Larrit was one of the guests,” she wrote“This woman, for reasons best known to her slanders me online at every opportunity she gets. She has done many live videos and posts to this effect.
I tried to reach out to her to understand what the issues were, but she chose to ignore me.“Lara and I are acquaintances. I have patronised her business and she also has done likewise. So I was surprised and confused how she suddenly became an enemy.
I sent messages to her on WhatsApp, I called few people close to her to understand why she would decide to become an antagonist, all efforts proved abortive.”
The actress also claimed that Larrit also continued the beef at the event despite several requests from other attendees to stop.“At the party yesterday, she started with the same energy, throwing words at me, calling me names and being disrespectful.
Initially, I kept calm, and didn’t respond to her. People around her appealed to her to stop, yet Lara wouldn’t stop and so decided to stand up for myself and I retaliated with the same energy.“It became heated and everyone around tried to broker peace, but she still wouldn’t stop.
At some point, she tried to throw a bottle at me but it hit a lady sitting in front of her and there was pandemonium. I stepped out to leave in the middle of the brouhaha but my friend pleaded with me to stay including the celebrant.
I went back in and she started attacking me verbally again. Eventually, she was taken out of the party, and she left.“She went overboard with her hate yesterday. The bottle could have harmed someone and it would become a criminal case. This was an unnecessary attack.
However, I would like to apologise to fans and family who felt I should have handled the whole situation differently. I’m sorry,” she wrote.
The said squabble happened at a star-studded event on Sunday in which Nollywood actresses such as Iyabo Ojo, Eniola Ajao, and Bimbo Thomas were in attendance.
In videos making rounds on the Internet, the duo got into an argument that escalated after Larrit threw a bottle at the actress.Aigbe was later escorted out of the event amidst a crowd by police officers.

Funsho took to her Instagram Stories on Sunday, May 8, 2022, where she issued her estranged husband and his new wife a stern warning. Funsho’s warning came hours after Aigbe shared videos and photos from the house allegedly owned by Funsho and Adeoti.
The photos were taken just before the new couple stepped out for Ini Edo’s 40th birthday bash. She called out Aigbe weeks after she granted an interview where she denied knowing her prior to their marriage.

Adeoti is a businessman with an interest in the entertainment industry.
Aigbe was married to auto dealer, Lanre Gentry and they have a son together.
That union was marred with domestic violence and infidelity allegations, and eventually got separated in 2017.
