Tension as Suspected Lunatic Murders Minor in Ekiti

There was tension in Belemo area of Adehun, Ado Ekiti following the gruesome murder of a seven-year-old girl, Damilade Falade by a suspected lunatic.

The girl which was sent an errand by her mother around eight O’clock in the night to a neighbouring house was later declared missing and efforts to locate her proved abortive.

The case was later reported at the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps which prompted the officers of the command to besiege the community in search of the girl.

The corpse of the young girl was later found this morning in the area and was alleged to have been killed by an insane person who resides in the community.

Speaking with our correspondent, a leader in the area alleged that the girl was murdered by an insane woman.

The development had led to the destruction of the house of the insane person by some residents of the area.

Disoriented Lady Found Wandering in Oko

A lady who gave her identity as Mariam has been found by some good Samaritans wandering the streets of Oko town, in Surulere local government area of Oyo state.

Located along Ogbomoso-Osogbo road, Oko town shares boundary with Ejigbo Osun state.

Mariam who was incoherent in her speech appeared to be in her mid-twenties.

All information she could render was that she was staying with her sister, a fashion designer known as Iya Jamiu who also sells charcoal but could not give account of her location.

On her account, she said Iya Jamiu sent her (Mariam)to go and hand over a newly sewn sac to a customer and from that point she lost consciousness of what she was doing.

She claimed some traders sell clothes and shoes in front of Iya Jamiu’s shop.

She described Iya Jamiu’s husband as either a bricklayer or carpenter.

“They call him for work whenever anyone is building a house”she said.

Her description suggests he is either a bricklayer or carpenter.

Mariam looks neat, suggesting that she has not been on the street wandering for too long.

Some sympathizers attributed her Yoruba intonation to that of Kwara state extraction.

She has, however, as of Thursday night been taken to Oko police station.

As at the time she was found, she was still holding the sac she was meant to handover to a customer.

Meanwhile, she does not have any item of identity on her.
