Following the retirement of the immediate past Zonal Director of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, Ibadan Zonal Station, Mr. Dominic Mokikan, the official hand – over of the management of the corporation has taken place at the Conference Room, Broadcasting House, Dugbe, Ibadan.

The official handing over of leadership from the immediate past Zonal Director of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, Ibadan Zonal Station, Mr. Dominic Mokikan, to the new Zonal Director, Mr. Olufemi Fulani. 

The ceremony, which was attended by members of the Committee of Management of the corporation in the station, depicted the saying that: “transitions are bridges, connecting the wisdom of the past with the promise of the future, and that “true leadership lies not in holding on but in passing the baton with grace,” 

Addressing members of management, Mr. Mokikan said the handing over was in line with the established due process of the corporation.

He noted that although the Ibadan Zonal Station was yet to attain its desired operational capacity, it would achieve the expected standard in due course.

Mr. Mokikan appealed to members of staff to accord the new Zonal Director the same cooperation and support he enjoyed during his tenure.

In his response, the new Zonal Director, Mr. Olufemi Fulani, who reflected on his early professional experience at the Ibadan Zonal Station, alongside postings in Edo, Ondo, Lagos, Ogun and Abuja, described Ibadan as a solid foundation for a young journalist.

Mr. Fulani appealed to members of the management team to support him in moving the corporation to greater heights.

The ceremony featured a solidarity birthday song in honour of the immediate past Zonal Director.

Thereafter, the management team, led by the new Zonal Director, proceeded to a closed-door meeting, where Mr. Fulani urged staff to upscale their performance efficiency for the smooth running of the corporation.

As baton of leadership of Radio Nigeria Ibadan Changes hands following the retirement of Mrs Bolatito Joseph, the New Zonal Director, Mr. Dominic Mokikan has assumed duty.

In a meeting with the Committee of Management at the Broadcasting House, Dugbe, Ibadan, the New Zonal Director charged management and staffers to prioritize corporate goals and objectives above personal interest.

Corporate set goals and objectives are achieved when it is devoid of personal interests at the workplace.

These were the first words of the new Zonal Director of Radio Nigeria, Ibadan National Station, Mr. Dominic Mokíkan while addressing the Committee of Management at the Studio One of the Broadcasting House, Dugbe Ìbàdàn.

Mr Mokikan noted that his mission at the zonal station was to record another landmark achievement in the Southwest zone and implored management and members of staff to embrace teamwork in their line of duties.

He encouraged the staffers to shun the act of intentional mistakes, saying it would not be forgiven. 

In an interview, the retired Zonal Director, Mrs Bolatito Joseph who relayed her experience in the 35 years of service with the corporation was optimistic that the zonal station would witness operational progress under the new ZD.

She enjoined the new helmsman to use his ingenuity to solve the myriad operational challenges of FM stations in the Ibadan Zone.

The New Zonal Director, Mr. Dominic Mokikan was Director of Revenue Monitoring and Compliance before his deployment as the new Zonal Director, Radio Nigeria Ibadan National Station.
