Ogun State Police Command has arrested a fifty-two year old man, Adebayo Akinrinoye, for allegedly having carnal knowledge of his 16-year-old daughter.

The suspect, who is a resident of Number 11, Kabiru Close, Idi Oparun Bus-stop, Matogun Àgbàdo, Ogun State was arrested after the Agbado Divisional Headquarters received a petition from the victim that her father was sexually abusing her.

The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Abimbola Oyeyemi confirmed the arrest of the suspect in Abeokuta, saying the victim alleged that her father had been abusing her since she was 14 years of age.

Mr. Oyeyemi said the suspect confessed to the crime and pleaded for forgiveness from his daughter. 

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Mr Edward Ajogun has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to Family Support Unit at Ota Area Command for further investigation and prosecution.

Ogun state police command has arrested a fifty two years old man, Jimoh Mutaliu for unlawfully impregnating and procuring abortions for his 16 years old niece.

According to the Command spokesman, Mr. Oyeyemi Abimbola in a statement made available in Abeokuta the suspect was arrested following a report lodged at Adatan divisional headquarters by the victim’s father.

He said the victim father had reported that his sixteen years old daughter has been impregnated his brother, an uncle to the victim.

Mr. Abimbola said the victim father also reported reported that the suspect had earlier procured abortions for the victim on two occasions. 

The police command spokesman said the suspect had confessed to the crimes.

He said the victim had been taken to the  hospital by the police for medical attention.

The Ogun state commissioner of police, Mr. Edward Ajogun had ordered the transfer of the suspect to state command for further investigation and prosecution. The police commissioner also expressed worry about the rampant cases of incest in the state and advised mothers to be watchful of their female children.

Police in Ogun State have arrested a 21-year-old armed robbery suspect, Nnamdi Omeka during a robbery operation in Ile Pupa, Iloye area of Sango Ota.

The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Abimbola Oyeyemi confirmed the arrest of the suspect in statement in Abeokuta.

Mr. Oyeyemi explained that the suspect was apprehended after the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, of Sango Divisional headquarters receiving a distress call that one Rasaq Hamed was being dispossessed of his car by a two-man armed robbery gang.

He listed items recovered from the suspect to include four live cartridges and one expended cartridge.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Edward Ajogun has ordered a massive manhunt for the fleeing member of the gang.

He also directed the one arrested be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, SCID, or discreet investigation.

Ogun State Police Command has arrested an an ex-convict, Segun Ogundeji for impersonating military officer.

According to the statement by the command Spokesman Mr. Abimbola Oyeyemi, the suspect was arrested when he came to Sango Ota Divisional Headquarters dressed in army camouflage uniform to solicit for the release of a suspect.

Mr. Oyeyemi explained that the suspect at the Sango Ota Police Station met an Air Force officer who accused the suspect of failure to give him professional courtesy which resulted into quarrel.

The spokesman said it was the quarrel that led to interrogation of the two, which exposed the fact that the suspect was not a military man.

He said it was also discovered that he had earlier been convicted by a court of competent jurisdiction for impersonation.

The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Edward Awolowo Ajogun has ordered a full investigation into the past activities of the suspect, with the view to charging him to court as soon as investigation is concluded.

Two suspected kidnappers have been shot dead by men and officers of Ogun state police during a gun battle in Itori area of Ewekoro local government. 

The Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Abimbola Oyeyemi confirmed this to newsmen in a statement in Abeokuta.

Mr. Oyeyemi explained that the suspects with face masks were sighted hibernating in a bush at the back of ICT Polytechnic Itori by the anti-robbery team of Ewekoro division. 

He said the suspects engaged the policemen in gun battle where two members of the syndicate were gunned down while others escaped with varying degrees of gunshot injuries. 

The command’s spokesman noted that one locally fabricated shot gun, two live cartridges, two battle axes, empty shells of AK 47 riffle ammunition, three android phones, two small phones, 8 pairs of slippers and two school bags. 

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Edward Ajogun who commended the gallant display of his men directed a massive manhunt for the fleeing members of the gang.

Five suspected kidnappers have been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly conniving to abduct an eight year old boy, Sadiq Abass.

The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Abimbola Oyeyemi confirmed the arrest of the suspects in a statement issued in Abeokuta.

Mr. Oyeyemi explained that the five suspects were arrested after the father of the victim, Riliwan Mohammed had reported the disappearance of the boy at Ogere Divisional Headquarters.

The command’s spokesman said the man told the policemen that he received a phone call from a strange number that his 8-year-old son had been abducted, noting that a ransom of three point five million naira was demanded before he would be released.

Mr. Oyeyemi said the suspects were arrested at their hideout where the victim was rescued unhurt based on intelligence and investigation.

Meanwhile, the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Edward Ajogun, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation.

Mr. Ajogun also directed an in-depth investigation into the past activities of the suspects in order to know how long they have been into kidnapping. Olusegun Folarin

Ogun State Police Command has arrested two men for allegedly impersonating police officers in Ibogun Town in Ifo Local Government Area of the state. 

According to a statement by the spokesman of the command, Mr. Abimbola Oyeyemi, the suspects, Tajudeen Bankole and Fawoyi Rotimi were arrested following information from an hotelier that two police officers demanded an unspecified amount of money from them after a threat of arrest.

He said the duo had confessed to the allegation with one of them being a dismissed policeman while the other was an informant.

Recovered from them are two forged police warrant cards.

Also, operatives of SWAT in Ogun State have apprehended one Oduola Abiola for impersonating a Nigeria Security and Civil Defense officer. 

He stated that the thirty-one year-old was arrested when a stolen phone was traced to him at Ibara area of Abeokuta.

The statement said he was arrested with a complete NSCDC uniform which he claimed to have stolen from a civil defense officer. 

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Edward Ajogun, has ordered the transfer of the suspects to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation.
