Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has called for total and loyal commitment among its officers and men to collectively fight against the insecurity bedeviling the country.

NSCDC Commandant in Oyo State, Mr Iskilu Akinsanya stated this at the end of the year party of the command held at its headquarters, in Agodi Ibadan.

He said as the command is celebrating the outgoing year, distinguished officers have also been recognised for a job well done during the year.

Mr Iskilu said some gallant officers have been performing optimally, hence the need for others to cultivate the habit of working professional in other for them to be recognised.

The NSCDC Commandant in Oyo State said the officers that died in active service this year would always be remembered for their brave acts while alive.

While declaring the event open, NSCDC Deputy Commander General, Mr Shem Obafaiye said the command had performed optimally in the year 2020 despite numerous challenges.

Mr Obafaiye therefore urged the officers and men of the command not to rest on their oars in their efforts to bring crime and criminality to the barest minimum in Oyo State.

Some distinguished officers of NSCDC were recognised for their effectiveness while discharging their duty.

Also some journalists in Oyo State were also recognised for their prompt reportage including Rasheedah Makinde of Radio Nigeria.

Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC Oyo State Command has decorated over two-thousand officers.

The officers were decorated at the NSCDC Headquarters, Agodi Ibadan by the Oyo State Commandant, Mr Iskilu Akinsanya.

Rasheedah Makinde captured the moment for Radio Nigeria.

The newly promoted officers were kitted in their uniforms and their expression showed a joyful mood as they are being calling one by one for the decoration.

The officers were decorated by the Oyo State Commandant of the corps, Mr Iskilu Akinsanya.

Two out of the newly promoted officers, Mrs Folasade Adegoke and Mr Soji Akingbade showed their appreciation to the Almighty and promised to put in more efforts in protecting lives and property of the citizens.

Contributing, NSCDC Commanding Officer, Mr Shem Obafaiye urged the newly promoted officers to always be committed and professional while discharging their duty.

While decorating the officers, NSCDC Commandant in Oyo State, Mr Iskilu Akinsanya urged them to remember that promotion comes with more responsibility, hence the need for them to work harder.

The NSCDC boss also reiterated the command’s efforts at ensuring a safe and sound yuletide celebrations as the command had deployed two thousand officers to strategic places for effective policing.

The occasion was graced with representatives of other security agencies as well as family and friends of the newly promoted officers.
