Abductors Of Kidnapped Farm Workers Demand Fifty Million Naira Ransom

Four persons have been kidnapped at Ikosu, farm settlement in Ikosu-Ekiti, Moba Local Government .

The incident occurred on Monday when the suspected kidnappers stormed the farm and abducted the four persons.

Confirming the incident, the Manager of the farm, Mr. Olawumi Ayodeji said the abductors had called and demanded fifty million naira ransom.

According to him, some of those abducted are Mohammed Jimoh, Seun Bolarinwa and a staff of the ministry of Agriculture identified as Mr. Yinka.

Other residents of Ikosu -Ekiti who spoke to Progress FM reporter appealed to the kidnappers to release the victims unhurt.

However, when contacted the public Relations Officer, Ekiti state police command, Mr. Sunday Abutu said that he was still expecting briefing from the Divisional Police Officer in the area.

Kidnapped Ekiti Monarch Regains Freedom, Reunites With family

The kidnapped Obadu of Ilemeso Ekiti in Oye Local Government Area of Ekiti state, Oba David Oyewumi has regained his freedom.

Oba Oyewumi was abducted in his palace last week Thursday when gunmen numbering about six scaled the fence and whisked him away Into unknown destination.

The suspected kidnappers later contacted the family last Saturday and demanded twenty million naira ransom to set him free.

Confirming the release of the monarch, the Police Public Relations Officer, Ekiti state Command, Mr. Sunday Abutu, said the royal father had been reunited with his family. 

“However, he is presently receiving medical care in one of the facilities in the state as a result of the trauma he passed through in the hands of his abductors”.

Mr. Abutu added that the Command was not aware if any ransom was paid to secure the release of the Oba,  saying his freedom was necessitated by team work between the police and other security agencies in the state.

Also, when contacted, the Ekiti State Amotekun Corps Commander, Retired Brigadier General Joe Komolafe, said the traditional ruler was rescued at a forest in Obbo Ayegunle, Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State with the support of the Vigilante members and Amotekun operatives.

Retired Brigadier General Komolafe said no ransom was paid to secure freedom for the kidnapped Monarch.
