The death has occurred of Chief (Mrs) Florence Olufunke Oyinsan, wife of an Ondo State-born media executive and community leader, Chief Sanya Oyinsan.

One of her sons, an Akure-based broadcaster, Mr Tope Oyinsan confirmed the passing of the matriarch on Monday, October 6, 2025, during a brief illness.

She was aged 73 years. 

Until her death, Chief Oyinsan was a devout Christian and a committed member of the Anglican Communion, St David’s Cathedral Ijomu, Akure.

A statement by the family says burial arrangements will be announced later.
