The Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society, NASFAT, has extended its heartfelt condolences to the Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde, on the passing of his elder brother, Engineer Sunday Makinde.

In a condolence message signed by the Zonal Chairman, Oyo Zone 1, Alhaji AbdulRazzaq Fadahunsi, and the Zonal Secretary, Alhaji Aliu Kewulere, NASFAT expressed deep sorrow over the loss, noting that it is a profoundly heartbreaking event.

The statement conveyed prayers for the repose of the late Engineer Sunday Makinde’s soul and sought divine strength for Governor Makinde and his family to bear the loss.

NASFAT also prayed for continued peace and unity in Oyo State during this period of mourning.

“May the Almighty comfort you and the entire Makinde family, and may He continue to bless Oyo State with peace and unity in the wake of this event,” the statement read.

The organization reassured the governor of their support and prayers, urging him to find solace in the fond memories of his late brother.

Governor Makinde and his family have continued to receive messages of condolence from various quarters, acknowledging the significant loss.

Nigerian leaders have been admonished to show more commitment and dedication in their service to God and humanity.

Guest Speaker, Alhaji Musliyudeen Olanipekun, gave the admonition at the inauguration of Oyo Zone one 2024-2026 Executive Council of Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society, NAFSAT, held at its headquarters in Samonda, Ibadan. 

Alhaji Olanipekun emphasised that leadership position in Islam was a duty of trust imposed on individuals which would be accounted for on the Day of Judgment.

In a remark, Vice President 2, NASFAT Oyo State, Alhaji Maruf Ajiroba, decried the level of moral decadence among the youths, calling on government, religious bodies, parents and guardians to engage them positively to curb the menace.

Earlier in an address of welcome, the outgoing Zonal Chairman of NAFSAT Oyo Zone 1, Alhaji Bayo Azeez appreciated Allah for a successful tenure and the unflinching support given to his team by members.

In an acceptance speech, the newly elected Zonal Chairman of NAFSAT, Oyo Zone 1, Alhaji Abdulrazak Fadahunsi who was full of gratitude to Allah, sought the support of members to reposition the society.

Altogether, fifteen new executives of NAFSAT Oyo Zone 1, were inaugurated into various offices of service including the Deputy Director, Information Communication and Technology, ICT Department, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, Ibadan Zonal Station, Alhaja Wasilat Salami as the Public Relations Secretary.

High points of the event were recitation of the Holy Quran, administration of the oath of office and presentation of change of baton certificates.
