Gunmen on Monday afternoon abducted unknown number of passengers at Odo-Osun around Imesi-Ile in Obokun Local Government Area of Osun State.  

It was gathered that the commercial vehicle which conveyed passengers coming from Ekiti was going towards Ikirun through Ila-Orangun road around 1:45 PM when the gunmen struck and took them to a nearby bush. 

A source in Imesi Ile noted that the gunmen shot severally to the air forcing the vehicle to stop.

The public relations officer of Osun Police Command, Mrs Yemisi Opalola confirmed the incident.

An unidentified numbers of commuters had been reportedly kidnapped along Ibokun – Osogbo road in Osun state.

The Field Commands of the Amotekun Security Network in Osun state, Comrade Amitolu Shitu told newsmen in a telephone conversation that the incident occured before a bridged in Ajebandele, a village between Osogbo and Obokun.

Mr Amitolu said the incident happened at about half past seven on Tuesday evening when a commercial bus moving towards Obokun ran into the kidnappers.

He that explained they fired gunshots which resulted in the death of a passenger while others were marched into the bush.

As 12am this morning when the Amotekun responded to journalists call, he hinted that his men were still combing the bush to monitor the movement of the kidnappers and their victims.
