The Ondo State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the robbery incident that occurred at a filling station where an attendant was shot dead.

The filling station, located along Oba-Ile Road in Akure, the Ondo State capital, was attacked on Tuesday night.

The identity of the victim could not be ascertained when the incident occurred late yesterday.

Spokesman of the Ondo State Police Command, ASP Tee-Leo Ikoro confirmed the incident, said the two persons had been apprehended immediately after the incident.

Mr Ikoro noted that Ondo State will not be a hiding place for criminals, stressing that the command is ready to do everything possible to ensure protection of lives and property.

Daredevil armed robbers have invaded two commercial banks at Ile-Oluji town in Ondo state, with four persons feared dead in the process.

The identities of those that were killed by the robbers included two policemen while the remaining two victims could not be ascertained.

An eyewitness told our correspondent that the robbers gained entry into the bank through the aid of dynamites and carted away undisclosed millions of naira at the two banks.

Confirming the incident, Ondo State Police spokesperson, Mr. Femi Joseph said more policemen and soldiers had been deployed to in and around Ile-Oluji town to track down the armed robbers.
