Chairman, Ondo South Power Project Committee and the Oniju of Iju-odo, Oba Festus Olumoyegun says the area will be reconnected to the national grid in few weeks time.
Oba Olumoyegun gave the assurance in Akure while briefing Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu on the efforts of the Committee headed by the Abodi of Ikale, Oba George Faduyile.
Oba Olumoyegun explained that the power transmission to the area will be tapped from Omotosho Transmission Company of Nigeria.
Earlier, the Abodi of Kale, Oba Faduyile and the consultant for the power project, Mr. Idowu Desmennu said the journey of two and a half years had yielded successful story as power would start to radiate in the Southern senatorial district as from end of November.
Reacting, Governor Arakunrin Oluwarotimi expressed happiness over the fruitful efforts to restore power to the district after over eleven years of total blackout
The Governor appreciated the federal government particularly the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo for their supports noting that power outage in the axis had always been his major concern.
